Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo has emerged as a possible target for 55 time Scottish Premiership champions Rangers following his recent departure from Southampton, Footynaija.com reports.
Aribo’s four-year stay at the St. Mary’s came to an end on Friday, following the expiration of his contract. During his time at the club, the Nigeria international scored nine times in 95 appearances across the Premier League and EFL Championship.
Southampton confirmed the 29-year-old midfielder’s departure via an official statement posted on the club’s website.

“We can confirm the Men’s First Team players departing upon the expiry of their contracts,” read the statement.
“A fourth 2024 promotion winner to leave, Joe Aribo’s four-year stay at the club will also come to an end.
“Amassing 111 appearances in total, the Nigeria international appeared 40 times in 2023/24, scoring on four occasions to lift the club back to the top flight.
“The club would like to place on record its gratitude for the effort and commitment shown by Oriol, Will, Ross, Alex, Joe, Jamie, Charlie and Elias during their time as Saints, and wish them all the best for what comes next in their careers.”
Rangers considering summer move for Joe Aribo

Following his departure from Southampton, Aribo has now reportedly emerged as a potential target for Rangers according to the Daily Post.
The Super Eagles star previously enjoyed a successful three-year spell at Ibrox, scoring 26 goals in 149 appearances while helping the Gers lift both the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup titles.
This history of success and familiarity with the club makes Aribo an attractive option for Rangers as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign. Having already proven his quality in Glasgow, the versatile midfielder would require little time to adapt if a return to Ibrox materialises.
While no formal offer has been reported at this stage, a reunion between Aribo and Rangers could be one of the more intriguing moves of the summer transfer window.
