Former Besiktas winger Okan Koc believes Galatasaray would struggle to finish in the Turkish Süper Lig’s top three without Victor Osimhen, Footynaija reports.
Koc has described the Nigerian striker as 60 per cent of the Galatasaray team aiming to win the Super Lig title for a record fifth consecutive time.
Since joining Galatasaray from Napoli, Osimhen has scored crucial goals and led the team to league and cup titles.
Koc believes players of Osimhen’s quality rarely come to Turkey and has urged Galatasaray supporters to appreciate what they have in the Super Eagles striker.
“Take Osimhen out of Galatasaray, and they’d struggle to even crack the top 3 in the Süper Lig. Osimhen is 60% of the team. Galatasaray fans, savor a player like this. Players of this caliber rarely come to Turkey,” Koc said, per A Spor.
Osimhen has scored nine goals and provided four assists in nine appearances across all competitions in the 2026-27 season. The former Napoli star has found the net eight times in seven Süper Lig matches and scored once in two Champions League appearances.
His latest standout performance came against Fenerbahce on October 26, when he scored twice in the first half to help Galatasaray claim a 2-1 victory over their Istanbul rivals.
Galatasaray have never lost a match in which Osimhen has found the net, winning most of those games.
Galatasaray will need Osimhen to keep scoring as they pursue another Süper Lig title and look to make progress in the Champions League.
