Victor Osimhen has been given a clear target for his return from injury, with Galatasaray planning for the Nigerian striker to be back in action against Barcelona after the international break, Footynaija reports.
Osimhen suffered a right adductor injury during Galatasaray’s 3-2 win at İstanbul Başakşehir on September 4. The 27-year-old scored in the 16th minute but was forced off 17 minutes later after feeling pain in the groin area.
Medical tests found a moderate-to-advanced strain with bleeding around the injured muscle. The injury ruled him out of Galatasaray’s Champions League opener against Sporting CP and put his availability for the club’s upcoming league fixtures in doubt.

Turkish outlet Fanatik reports that Osimhen has a chance of recovering in time for the September 19 away game against Trabzonspor. Galatasaray’s coaching staff, however, have no intention of risking him in the Black Sea fixture.
The club instead plans to give Osimhen the full international break to recover and reduce the risk of the injury returning. His next target is now the Champions League meeting with Barcelona on October 13 at RAMS Park.
The decision comes after Osimhen made an explosive start to the season, scoring six goals and adding two assists in his first four appearances for the Turkish champions.
Galatasaray will therefore sacrifice a possible early return against Trabzonspor to give their main striker more time to recover. If his rehabilitation goes according to plan, Barcelona could provide the stage for Osimhen’s return.
