Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has ended her first season in England with one of the biggest individual honours a goalkeeper can earn, Footynaija reports.
The Super Falcons star finished the 2025/26 Barclays Women’s Super League campaign with the highest save percentage of any goalkeeper who played at least 10 league matches.
The official figures showed Nnadozie recorded a save percentage of 74.7%, putting her just ahead of Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton on 74.6%, while Manchester United goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce finished third with 73.6%.
The Nigerian international settled quickly after arriving from Paris FC in July 2025. She played 19 league matches, faced 83 shots on target, and stopped 62 of them. She also kept six clean sheets and prevented an estimated 3.3 goals, making her one of Brighton’s most important players throughout the season.
Her excellent performances were recognised with the WSL Save of the Month award after a brilliant fingertip stop against Liverpool, and that effort was also nominated for the league’s Save of the Season prize.
Nnadozie’s influence stretched beyond the league. She helped Brighton reach their first-ever Women’s FA Cup final, producing six saves against Manchester City at Wembley despite the defeat. The 24-year-old also won the CAF African Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for a third straight year and placed fourth in the Yashin Trophy rankings.
She has now joined the Super Falcons in Morocco as Nigeria prepare to challenge for an 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title.
