Viv Solomon-Otabor, Francisca Ordega, Ashleigh Plumptre, and Olanrewaju Kayode were in impressive goalscoring form for their clubs on Friday, February 7, Soccernet.football reports.

Solomon-Otabor opened the scoring in a thrilling nine-goal encounter, but his Al Orooba side fell 4-5 to Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates Pro League.

The winger had only joined Al Orooba two days earlier, making his debut in the match and marking the occasion with a 33rd-minute strike.

However, the Super Eagles invitee faces a tough challenge in helping his new club escape relegation, as Al Orooba sit at the bottom of the UAE Pro League table with just one win in 15 matches, currently eight points adrift of safety.

Kayode in brilliant scoring form for Esenler Erokspor

In Turkey, Olanrewaju Kayode continued his excellent form, netting for Esenler Erokspor in their 1-1 draw against Oghenekaro Etebo’s Gençlerbirliği.

Since his January move, Kayode has proved to be a valuable addition, scoring three goals and providing an assist in his first four appearances.

His presence has coincided with an unbeaten run for Esenler Erokspor, who have won two and drawn two in that period. They now sit four points above the relegation zone, three points ahead of Kayode’s former club, Şanlıurfaspor.

Plumptre and Ordega star in Al Ittihad’s victory

In Saudi Arabia, Nigeria’s Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega played key roles as Al Ittihad returned to winning ways with a commanding 3-0 victory over Al Amal in the Women’s Premier League.

Ordega provided assists for Al Ittihad’s first two goals on either side of halftime before Plumptre sealed the win with an 85th-minute strike.

Ighalo’s goal drought continues

Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo endured another frustrating outing for Al Wehda, failing to score for the fifth consecutive game in their 4-2 defeat at Al Orubah in the Saudi Pro League.

The 35-year-old striker has netted just four times in 19 league appearances this season and has not scored since Al Wehda’s 2-1 victory over Al Fateh on January 9.

Notably, Al Wehda have failed to win any of their last five matches in which Ighalo has drawn a blank. Last season, he was the club’s top scorer with 15 goals in 31 games, but his current struggles highlight a concerning dip in form.
