Akor Adams has gone from a striker nobody knew in La Liga to one of the most wanted forwards in Europe in the space of 18 months, and the arrival of Sevilla’s new sporting director has only added urgency to the question of where he plays his football next season, Footynaija.com reports.
The 26-year-old joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January 2025 for €5.5 million and contributed nothing in his first six months, failing to register a single goal or assist. What followed was one of the more dramatic individual turnarounds in La Liga last season.
Adams finished as Sevilla’s top scorer, registering ten goals and three assists in 32 appearances, playing a central role in keeping the club in the division.

As reported by Afrik-Foot, Premier League clubs have been monitoring Adams for some time. West Ham United and Fulham are among the sides that have closely tracked the Nigerian forward, with West Ham viewing him as attacking depth and Fulham considering him a long-term option.
Hull City, on the brink of Premier League promotion, have also contacted his representatives, while Marseille have gone further, preparing an €18 million offer that Sevilla have already deemed insufficient, holding out instead for a fee closer to €25 million.
Per the report, Sevilla’s new sporting director José Ignacio Navarro will have the final say on Adams’ future. When pressed on the matter recently, Navarro offered little away.
“We’re in the phone call exchange phase. The Sevilla shirt carries weight in the market and the players are generating interest,” he said.
Sevilla are managing a difficult financial period and must raise capital to register players for the upcoming season, which makes Adams, their most sellable asset, central to those calculations.
Adams himself has downplayed the speculation.
“I haven’t heard anything about it, but it’s the transfer window and there will always be a lot of rumours. I have a contract with Sevilla and we’ve just come through a difficult season. I’m happy in Seville,” he said.
Whether that contentment survives a formal Premier League approach remains the summer’s defining question for the Super Eagles striker.
