When Galatasaray decided to invest €75 million to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli last summer, it raised eyebrows across Europe, Footynaija reports.

It was a bold statement from the Turkish champions and a signal that they were ready to compete financially as well as on the pitch. Eight months on, that decision looks increasingly justified.

Osimhen has delivered goals in both domestic and European competitions, scoring ten times in the league while also contributing seven goals and two assists in the Champions League. He carried that momentum into the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored four goals and provided two assists in six matches to help Nigeria secure a third-place finish.

Such performances have naturally reignited transfer speculation. Clubs across Europe, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich, are reported to be monitoring his situation closely.

🚨 Bayern are seriously considering a move for Victor Osimhen as they begin planning for the eventual departure of Harry Kane.

However, Galatasaray have made one thing clear: they are under no pressure to sell.

Amid speculation that a release clause might make a transfer easier, club president Dursun Özbek dismissed the idea outright.

“There is no release clause in Osimhen’s contract. He is an extremely successful player and will serve Galatasaray for many years.”

Those words significantly strengthen Galatasaray’s negotiating position. Without a pre-agreed exit figure written into the contract, any interested club would have to meet a valuation set entirely by the Turkish side. Reports suggest that figure could be around €150 million, double what they paid Napoli.

Özbek also addressed earlier criticism surrounding the initial fee, acknowledging that some had questioned the price tag. Now, with Osimhen thriving, the narrative appears to have shifted.

For Osimhen, the situation is layered. He has frequently spoken about his admiration for the Premier League and has not hidden his ambition to play in England one day. Yet he has also expressed deep appreciation for Galatasaray and their supporters.

For now, the power lies firmly in Istanbul. With no release clause to trigger and a long-term contract in place, Galatasaray control the timeline, and the price, of any potential move.
