‘They make everything easy’ – Osimhen details why Galatasaray feels like home

Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has opened up on his happiness at the RAMS Park, dismissing speculation about his future, Footynaija.com reports.

The 27-year-old scored and provided an assist as Okan Buruk’s side beat Alanyaspor 3-1 in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday, extending the club’s lead over rivals Fenerbahce to five points.

But it was what came after the final whistle that drew as much attention as the performance itself.

Osimhen did not celebrate his goal against Juventus in the UEFA Champions League earlier in the week, and the silence set tongues wagging. Reports of unpaid wages and a potential summer exit began circulating almost immediately.

The Nigerian had wasted no time putting those to rest.

“I am very happy at Galatasaray. Every player is emotional. I celebrate most of the time, but there are times when I don’t,” he said on the club’s official website.

“Since I arrived, both my family and I have been having a great time with the president, the coach, the team, and everyone. They make everything very easy for us. I love my club, I love my coach, I love my fans. We conduct our business within a framework of mutual love and respect.”

The fans had their own answer ready on the night. A banner was unveiled inside the stadium that read “We are family, and family is everything.”

“Words can’t describe it,” he said. “We have a fanbase that creates a special bond with the players, beyond just football. We are a family, and family is more important than anything.”

It is a bond that has only deepened since the Nigerian joined initially on loan from Napoli in 2024, before making the move permanent in a €75m deal last summer.

He has 17 goals and six assists in 25 appearances across all competitions this season.

Next up is a derby against Besiktas on Saturday, a match the striker has already earmarked.

“A very high-quality team awaits us, but we also have a very high-quality team,” he said. “We’ll go there for three points.”
