Stanley Nwabali’s anticipated switch to Simba SC has fallen through at the final stage, leaving the Nigeria international goalkeeper searching for his next club after weeks of negotiations failed to produce an agreement, Footynaija reports.
The 29-year-old, who recently parted ways with Chippa United, had been strongly linked with the Tanzanian giants, now coached by Steve Barker. However, discussions broke down over personal terms, with Simba ultimately deciding not to proceed due to the financial package requested by the player’s camp.
“They really wanted to sign him in January, but it did not happen and they have moved on from him,” a source told Kickoff Magazine.

“Simba wanted to sign him because he is a good goalkeeper, obviously, but the demands from his side were too exorbitant. They have moved on and he is no longer going there.”
The collapse of the deal represents a setback for Nwabali, who has been without a club since leaving Chippa earlier this year.
Despite that, interest in his services remains strong across multiple leagues. Tanzanian side Azam FC are monitoring developments closely, while South African heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are also reported admirers.
Elsewhere on the continent, Raja Casablanca have added him to their shortlist. Beyond Africa, clubs such as Al Ettifaq, Queens Park Rangers and Union Saint-Gilloise have all tracked his progress.
While being competitively inactive, Nwabali is maintaining his fitness through individual sessions with former Super Eagles goalkeeper Greg Etafia as he weighs his next move.
