AS Roma have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign Nigerian winger Moses Simon, with several Premier League clubs also expressing interest in the FC Nantes star, Footynaija.com understands.

The 29-year-old, who has nine goals and 15 assists in 77 appearances for Nigeria, is expected to leave Nantes this summer, with no agreement in place for a contract extension.

His current deal runs until June 2026, but the French club may look to cash in rather than risk losing him on a cut-price deal next year.

Simon has enjoyed a productive season, scoring six goals and providing eight assists in Ligue 1.

His performances have attracted interest from AS Roma, who are keen to bolster their attacking options and are reportedly preparing a formal offer, according to Foot-sur7. In France, OGC Nice and Marseille are also monitoring his situation.

The Premier League remains a potential destination, with Crystal Palace, Everton, Wolves, and Brentford all reportedly weighing up moves for the Nigerian forward.

His market value is estimated at €12 million, making him an affordable option for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking depth.

For now, Simon is with Nigeria for the World Cup qualifiers and he played a key role as the Super Eagles defeated Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali to brighten their qualification hopes.
