Venezia are set to complete the signing of Nigerian striker Akor Adams, who join from Spanish La Liga club Sevilla, Footynaija reports.
The Super Eagles forward will arrive in Venice on Tuesday before linking up with his new teammates at the club’s pre-season training camp in Falcade on Thursday, as per Gianluca di Marzio.
The Serie A newcomers have been working for weeks to bring Adams in from Sevilla, and the deal is now close to being completed. While the two clubs had already reached an agreement several days ago, the transfer was waiting for the 25-year-old to accept Venezia’s personal terms. That final approval has now been given, leaving only the last paperwork before the move is officially announced.
Adams’ absence from Sevilla’s second pre-season friendly in Poland further confirmed that the transfer is entering its final stage. The Spanish club is now focused on completing the deal, which is expected to be one of its biggest sales this summer.
Reports in Spain say Sevilla could receive up to €20.5 million through achievable performance bonuses, with the total package rising to around €23.5 million if additional targets are met. That would represent a huge profit for the La Liga side, who signed Adams from Montpellier during the January 2025 transfer window for about €5.5 million.
The sale will also free up money and wage space as Sevilla continue reshaping their squad. At the same time, Adams’ departure means the club must sign another striker. With Alexis Sánchez, Neal Maupay and Adams all no longer in their plans, coach Luis García Plaza currently has only Isaac Romero and Peque as recognised centre-forwards ahead of the new season.
