Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar is on the brink of completing a loan move to Valencia, with a medical scheduled for Friday, Soccernet.football reports.

The Real Sociedad forward has reportedly agreed on terms with the Spanish side, signaling a fresh chapter in his La Liga career.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on his X account, stating, “Medical today for Umar Sadiq as new Valencia player, joining on loan with buy option clause from Real Sociedad. Deal sealed.”

Sadiq’s arrival at Valencia comes as the club prepares for a crucial La Liga clash against Real Madrid under new manager Carlos Corberán.

While fans eagerly anticipate Corberán’s debut, the addition of Sadiq Umar brings further excitement as Valencia aims to bolster their attacking options.

Once the medical is completed, Sadiq is expected to finalize a loan deal lasting until the end of the season. The Nigerian international could make his first appearance for Valencia in their Copa del Rey fixture against Eldense.

A Rollercoaster Journey in Spain

Sadiq Umar’s career in Spain has been a tale of highs and lows.

He first made headlines at Almería, scoring 38 goals in two seasons to propel the club to a Segunda División title and subsequent promotion. His explosive start in La Liga caught the attention of Real Sociedad, who signed him on the 2022 summer transfer deadline day.

The Nigerian made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut in a 1–1 draw against Atlético Madrid and featuring in Sociedad’s famous win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

However, his momentum was halted by a severe ACL injury during a league match against Getafe, sidelining him for the season.

Sadiq returned for the 2023–24 campaign, gradually finding his feet.

His first goal of the season—a stunning long-range strike against Sevilla—ended a 449-day drought, and he followed it up with another brilliant effort against Osasuna.

Despite flashes of brilliance, Sadiq managed only four league goals for Sociedad over three seasons, prompting the need for a fresh start at Valencia.
