AC Milan have confirmed that Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has undergone successful surgery in London to repair a ruptured tendon in his left hip, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian international underwent the procedure on Wednesday after suffering a severe tear to the tendon of his tensor fasciae latae muscle, with the operation performed by Professor Ernest Schilders and attended by Milan doctor Stefano Mazzoni.
The Italian giants confirmed that the surgery was successful in an official statement, with Chukwueze expected to return to Italy to begin his rehabilitation.
The 27-year-old is reportedly facing around three months on the sidelines, with his recovery expected to keep him out of action until February 2027.

Chukwueze had been dealing with the injury since Milan’s Serie A encounter against Atalanta on October 18, with the club initially attempting conservative treatment before opting for surgery.
His absence represents a setback for Milan, particularly after the winger had begun to establish himself as an important part of the team’s plans under head coach Ruben Amorim.
Following his return from a loan spell at Fulham, Chukwueze had enjoyed an encouraging start to the campaign, featuring in a right wing-back role and contributing two assists in eight appearances across all competitions.
Although he had yet to score this term, his creativity and ability to progress the ball had made him a useful option for Amorim before the injury halted his early season momentum.

His prolonged absence also means he will miss Nigeria’s upcoming international engagements, handing the Super Eagles a significant setback ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Tanzania.
Nigeria are scheduled to face Tanzania on November 13 before the return fixture on November 17. The winger’s absence leaves the Super Eagles with one fewer attacking option as they prepare for the crucial fixtures..
Chukwueze will now focus on his recovery as he begins rehabilitation, with Milan hoping to have the Super Eagles winger back in action later in the season.
