Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has delivered a worrying update on Super Eagles defender Ryan Alebiosu after the right-back suffered an injury during their Championship defeat to Stoke City, Footynaija.com reports.
Alebiosu was forced off in the 41st minute of Tuesday’s encounter at Ewood Park, with Gady Beyuku introduced as his replacement after the Nigerian defender appeared unable to continue.
Blackburn eventually suffered a 2-1 defeat, with Jack McGlynn opening the scoring for Stoke in the 43rd minute before Moussa Baradji’s own goal doubled the visitors’ advantage in the second half.

Andri Gudjohnsen pulled one back for the hosts in the 87th minute, but Rovers could not find a leveller as they suffered their second consecutive league defeat.
Speaking after the game, Mowbray admitted he was uncertain about the extent of Alebiosu’s injury, revealing that the club’s medical team would assess the defender before determining his next steps.

“I’ve no idea,” Mowbray said, per Lancashire Telegraph. “Ryan gets injured in every game almost, doesn’t he, and generally plays on. I don’t know. I’ll see tomorrow what the physio department think.”
The manager’s comments leave Blackburn waiting for further clarity on the 24-year-old’s condition, with his availability for their upcoming fixture against West Ham United now in doubt.
Alebiosu has been an important figure for Rovers, and any prolonged absence would represent a setback for the Championship side as they look to recover from their recent losses.
Blackburn currently sit 14th in the table with 18 points from 14 matches and will hope to have the Nigerian defender available when they take on The Hammers on Saturday.
