Former Galatasaray striker Alvaro Morata has lavished praise on Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, describing the Nigerian as a “truly wonderful person” and one of the best strikers in world football, Footynaija.com reports.
Morata and Osimhen shared the Galatasaray dressing room during the 24/25 season, with the pair playing important roles as the Turkish giants secured their first domestic double in six years, winning both the Super Lig and Turkish Cup.
While Morata has since moved on from the Istanbul giants, Osimhen remained at RAMS Park and went on to fire Galatasaray to a fourth consecutive Super Lig title in the 25/26 season.

Reminiscing on his time alongside the Nigeria international, Morata spoke warmly about Osimhen’s personality while also recalling the understanding he developed with him on the pitch.
“Victor is a legend,” Morata told Spanish channel Sporty TV, per Fanatik.
“He’s so funny. He’s always helping everyone. What a guy! He’s a truly wonderful person and, for me, one of the top three strikers in the world. I really enjoyed playing with him.
“I remember sometimes playing behind Victor. It was like, ‘Just pass the ball into the open space, and I’ll score.’ I think he’s one of the best in the world.”

Morata’s admiration for his former teammate extends beyond their time together at Galatasaray, with the Spaniard placing Osimhen in the same bracket as some of the biggest names in world football.
According to Morata, the Nigerian currently ranks alongside Erling Haaland and Harry Kane among the three best strikers in the world.
“Victor Osimhen is one of the top three strikers in the world,” he said, while also expressing his desire to see the Nigerian remain at Galatasaray.
Osimhen has certainly given his former teammate plenty of reason to maintain such a high opinion of him after making a blistering start to the 26/27 campaign.
The Super Eagles striker has scored six goals and provided two assists in his opening four league appearances for Galatasaray, once again establishing himself as the focal point of the club’s attack.
However, Osimhen’s impressive start was interrupted by an injury during Galatasaray’s league meeting with Istanbul Basaksehir on September 4.
The 27-year-old suffered an adductor injury and was forced off in the first half, subsequently missing the Turkish champions’ 3-1 Champions League defeat to Sporting CP on Wednesday.
Osimhen is expected to spend around two to three weeks on the sidelines, meaning Galatasaray will have to cope without their star forward for a number of upcoming fixtures before they can hope to welcome him back.
