Galatasaray have decided that Victor Osimhen will not leave the club this summer, despite strong interest from several leading European clubs, Footynaija reports.
The Turkish champions have rejected major offers for the Nigeria striker and are now preparing for the new season with him at the centre of their plans.
Osimhen, 27, signed a permanent deal with Galatasaray until June 2029 after helping the club win the Turkish title. His contract has no release clause, giving Galatasaray a strong position in any transfer talks.
Atlético Madrid reportedly offered up to €125m, while Arsenal tried to include Viktor Gyökeres plus €30m in a player-plus-cash deal. Tottenham also saw a €60m bid rejected. Manchester United and Barcelona have made enquiries.
Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has made it clear that money is not enough to change the club’s position.
“If Osimhen leaves, they won’t let me stay in this position,” Özbek said as per Fotospor, reflecting the pressure he believes he would face from supporters.
He had also told those close to him: “No matter what offer comes in, I won’t sell him. Putting a price on someone you don’t intend to sell is like counting your chickens before they hatch.”
Osimhen has become a major figure at Galatasaray, scoring 59 goals and providing 16 assists in 74 official appearances. He reached 50 goals in 59 games, becoming the fastest player in the club’s history to reach that mark.
His importance has increased following Mauro Icardi’s departure. Manager Okan Buruk is building his attack around Osimhen, while the club plans to give him the No. 9 shirt and captaincy.
Galatasaray also face stronger competition in Turkey. Fenerbahçe have added Mason Greenwood and Romelu Lukaku, while Trabzonspor have signed Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez.
There is also a financial reason to avoid an Italian buyer. If Osimhen is sold to an Italian club before September 2027, Galatasaray could face a penalty of at least €70m under the terms of his move from Napoli.
