Super Eagles defender Abdullahi Bewene has attracted fresh interest from France, Belgium and the Netherlands after his rapid rise at Baník Ostrava and breakthrough with Nigeria under Eric Chelle, Footynaija.com reports.
The 21-year-old has only recently announced himself at senior international level, but his progress in the Czech Republic has already put him on the radar of clubs outside the country. Le Havre have now joined the list of teams following his situation after securing their return to Ligue 1.
Bewene joined Baník Ostrava from the club’s B team in October 2025 and became part of the first-team setup. He made 23 league appearances during the 2025/26 season as Baník finished the campaign strongly.

His performances also earned him a first call-up to the Super Eagles in June. Chelle handed him his senior debut against Poland, where he played the full 90 minutes in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw in Warsaw.
The right-sided player also featured in Nigeria’s following friendly against Portugal, giving him another experience at international level.
French and Belgian clubs step up interest

Nigerian journalist Ojora Babatunde reports that Le Havre have now joined clubs from Belgium, the Netherlands and France in monitoring Bewene, while transfer journalist Rudy Galetti had previously reported that French and Belgian teams were keeping a close watch on the defender.
Bewene enjoyed a full breakthrough season in Czech football before making the step into the Super Eagles, and his development has continued into the new campaign. He started Baník Ostrava’s opening league game of the 2026/27 season against Zlín on July 25 as his side won 1-0.
His market value has also risen to around €850,000, according to Transfermarkt, although any potential transfer fee would depend on Baník’s valuation and the terms offered by interested clubs.
A move to France, Belgium or the Netherlands would give the young Nigerian another opportunity to develop in a stronger European league while continuing to build his place in Chelle’s Super Eagles squad.
