Italian club Monza are closing in on the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro after agreeing a permanent transfer with Inter Milan, Footynaija reports.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the deal is worth around €7.5 million (about N12 billion), while Inter have also secured a 10 percent sell-on clause, meaning they will earn part of any future transfer fee if Monza later sell the player.
Akinsanmiro joined Inter from Nigerian club Remo Stars as one of the country’s brightest young talents. Although he found first-team chances limited at the San Siro, his loan move to Pisa during the 2025/26 season helped him prove his quality.
The 21-year-old impressed with his energy, calm passing and ability to control games from midfield. His performances made him one of Pisa’s standout players and also caught the attention of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who handed him his senior international debut in a friendly against Egypt before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Pisa had the chance to sign him permanently but decided not to activate the purchase option in the loan agreement. That opened the door for Monza, who have now moved quickly to secure his services.
The transfer offers another important step in Akinsanmiro’s career. Regular playing time at Monza could help him continue his development, strengthen his place in Italian football and increase his chances of becoming a regular member of the Super Eagles squad.
