Genoa have entered the race to sign Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare, setting up fresh competition with Fiorentina for the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward, Footynaija.com reports.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina in recent weeks, with the Viola already holding talks with Wolves over a potential deal.
However, reports in Italy that Genoa have now identified Arokodare as one of their leading attacking targets as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the new Serie A season.

The Nigerian only arrived at Molineux from Belgian outfit Genk last summer but endured a difficult first campaign in English football. He scored six goals across all competitions as Wolves failed to avoid the drop, fuelling speculation that he could leave the club just one year into his stay.
Despite that underwhelming return, Arokodare’s reputation remains strong following an impressive spell in Belgium, where he registered 41 goals in 113 appearances for Genk before earning his Premier League move.
His goalscoring exploits have ensured interest has not waned, with Fiorentina remaining firmly in the picture. The Florence based club recently submitted an improved offer structured as a loan with a €22 million buy option, while the Super Eagles striker is also believed to favour a switch to Serie A.
Genoa’s entry into the race could now complicate Fiorentina’s pursuit, with both clubs seeking attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes. Wolves, meanwhile, are expected to take their time in weighing up suitable offers as uncertainty continues to surround Arokodare’s future.
