Eintracht Frankfurt have intensified their pursuit of Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika as the Bundesliga club continue negotiations with Belgian champions Club Brugge over a summer transfer, Footynaija.com reports.
The German outfit have emerged as the frontrunners for the 25-year-old’s signature after reaching a verbal agreement on personal terms with the Nigerian international. Although Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad threatened to hijack the move earlier this week, Frankfurt have remained determined to get the deal over the line before the new season.
According to reports, Frankfurt have now submitted an improved offer worth up to €9 million after their opening proposal was rejected by Club Brugge. The latest bid moves the Bundesliga side closer to the Belgian club’s €10 million valuation as negotiations enter a crucial stage.

With Onyedika entering the final year of his contract and reportedly unwilling to sign an extension, Club Brugge are under increasing pressure to reach a decision. Keeping hold of the Nigerian beyond this summer could see them lose one of their prized assets for nothing when his deal expires next year.
Since joining Club Brugge from Danish side FC Midtjylland, Onyedika has grown into one of the Belgian club’s most dependable performers. The Super Eagles midfielder has made 183 appearances across all competitions, registering nine goals and six assists while playing a key role in the club’s domestic success and European campaigns.
Frankfurt’s latest move also appears to have strengthened their position in the race for the midfielder despite Al-Ittihad’s interest. If the deal goes through, Onyedika is expected to become an important part of Adi Hutter’s midfield rebuild alongside summer signing Noel Aseko as the Bundesliga side prepare for the 2026/2027 season.
