Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen said Galatasaray’s fighting spirit helped them overcome Antalyaspor and seal the Turkish Süper Lig title, Footynaija reports.
Osimhen’s comment comes after the Super Eagles forward scored twice in a thrilling 4-2 comeback victory in Istanbul on Saturday night.
The match at Rams Park appeared to be slipping away from the home side after struggling Antalyaspor stunned the champions-elect with two goals from Soner Dikmen. The visitors struck first in the 44th minute before restoring their advantage shortly after the break, silencing thousands of Galatasaray supporters inside the stadium.
Galatasaray had briefly levelled through former Premier League midfielder Mario Lemina in the 56th minute, but Dikmen’s second goal six minutes later increased the pressure on Okan Buruk’s side in a title-deciding encounter.

As tension rose in Istanbul, Osimhen once again delivered when his team needed him most. The former Napoli forward won a penalty in the 66th minute after being fouled inside the box before calmly sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 2-2.
The 27-year-old remained Galatasaray’s biggest attacking threat throughout the closing stages and completed the turnaround in dramatic fashion two minutes from time. Following a scramble inside the area, Osimhen reacted quickest to fire home from close range and send Rams Park into celebration mode before Kaan Ayhan added a late fourth goal.

After the final whistle, Osimhen immediately praised his teammates and the club’s mentality.
“Antalyaspor gave us a tough time, but we are Galatasaray,” he said as per Habersarikirmizi. “The team performed very well. We are very happy.”
The victory secured Galatasaray’s 26th league title and moved them four points clear of rivals Fenerbahçe with one game remaining.
Osimhen also reached another major milestone in Turkey. His brace took him to 59 goals for Galatasaray in only 74 appearances, drawing level with club legend Selçuk İnan on the club’s all-time scoring chart. The former Lille striker has now won six major trophies in his career, including the Serie A title in Italy and two Süper Lig crowns in Turkey.
