Victor Osimhen may be one of the most lethal strikers in Europe, but according to an Italian academic, his character has made top clubs think twice, Footynaija.com reports.
Amid Galatasaray’s ongoing bid to make his loan permanent, former university rector and football analyst Guido Trombetti has suggested that clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Barcelona were put off by the striker’s unpredictable behaviour.
Trombetti, speaking on Radio Napoli Centrale, claimed that Osimhen’s off-field reputation has scared elite clubs away, even with a €75 million release clause on the table.

“The problem now is only one: Victor Osimhen,” he said, as reported by Legit.ng.
“He’s a difficult person in terms of behaviour, you never know what he wants to do. Football clubs stay away from his difficult character. Precisely for this reason, in fact, no European club has offered the 75 Million Euros of the termination clause. They are afraid to deal with him. The President must make a discount in order to get rid of him.”
The Nigerian forward had it rough at Napoli over the past year, falling out with the club hierarchy, removing all Napoli content from his Instagram, and clashing over contract negotiations.
Although he shone on loan at Galatasaray last season, leading the Turkish giants to a league and cup double, big clubs have reportedly been cautious.

The former Lille striker was previously linked with top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona, and even Paris Saint-Germain, but none of those clubs were willing to activate his clause or match his salary expectations.
Now, Galatasaray are in advanced talks to sign him permanently for around €75 million. While the final paperwork is yet to be completed, the Turkish side remain confident.
Club president Dursun Özbek recently confirmed that the transfer is being handled strategically and intelligently, and that further details will be revealed once it’s complete.
