Victor Osimhen produced a stunning performance to fire Galatasaray to their 19th Turkish Cup title with a 3-0 victory over Trabzonspor at the Gaziantep Stadium — their first triumph in the competition since 2019, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian striker, who has been in inspired form since arriving in Turkey, scored twice in the second half to seal the win, capping off a dominant individual and team display.
Osimhen had already played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s route to the final, bagging a brace in the 2-1 quarter-final win over Fenerbahçe and contributing a goal and assist in the 5-1 semi-final thrashing of Konyaspor.
Trabzonspor came into the final determined to go one better after finishing runners-up last season, with Nigerian forward Anthony Nwakaeme looking to inspire his side to glory on his return. But Galatasaray had other ideas — and made an explosive start.
Just five minutes in, Yunus Akgün’s clever cutback found Baris Alper Yilmaz, who drilled a superb first-time finish into the bottom corner to hand Galatasaray an early lead.
Then it was all about Osimhen. Ten minutes after the restart, he shrugged off a defender with trademark power before squeezing a finish in from a tight angle for 2-0.

Osimhen then struck again on the counter, finishing off a sweeping move to take his season tally to 35 — a new club record for a foreign player, breaking Mario Jardel’s 24-year-old mark.
The win gave Osimhen his first piece of silverware in Turkey, and his fourth major career title, adding to his U-17 World Cup and U-23 AFCON successes with Nigeria in 2015, and his Serie A title with Napoli in 2023.
