Former Galatasaray vice president and prominent Turkish lawyer, Dr. Rezan Epözdemir, has pledged to personally contribute €2.5 million towards the club’s efforts to retain the Nigerian star, Footynaija.com reports.

Speaking on live television as per Mynet, Epözdemir said she would donate the sum to help finance Osimhen’s stay at the club.

The Super Lig champions are desperate to keep hold of Osimhen, who has been pivotal to their title success.

The Nigerian striker netted 25 league goals this season, four more than his nearest rival Piatek, and is on course to finish as the top scorer. His impact has been immediate and profound, mirroring his title-winning heroics at Napoli.

Osimhen’s goals against Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, and Trabzonspor – including a brace in the Turkish Cup final – have made him a fan favourite. His performances under manager Okan Buruk have fuelled hopes that Galatasaray could dominate both domestically and in Europe.

However, retaining Osimhen is far from guaranteed. Juventus, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly circling, while clubs from Saudi Arabia are said to be offering eye-watering salaries to lure him away.

Still, the club’s supporters – and influential figures like Epözdemir – are determined not to let him go without a fight.
