Bodø/Glimt celebrated their fourth Norwegian Eliteserien title in five years with a thrilling 5-2 victory over relegated Lillestrøm at the Aspmyra Stadion, Soccernet.football reports.

The Arctic club’s dominance continues, but this season tested their resolve, as a late-season dip in form nearly cost them the championship.

The title race swung decisively last weekend when second-placed Brann fell 2-1 to Molde, giving Glimt the chance to seal the trophy with a win on the final day.

Despite early drama, with Lillestrøm taking an unexpected lead, Glimt roared back with a powerful display, turning the deficit into a 2-1 halftime advantage.

The visitors briefly equalised after the break, but Glimt responded emphatically, adding three more goals to ignite celebrations in Bodø.

“It tastes absolutely fantastic, just like all the others. They say it gets harder every year, and it does,” remarked head coach Kjetil Knutsen after the match, reflecting on another historic triumph.

Though Glimt claimed the glory, Brann’s resurgence was a standout story.

Following their relegation in 2022, the Bergen-based club stormed back to Eliteserien and finished as runners-up for the second consecutive season, reducing the gap to just three points.

Their 1-1 draw with Viking in torrential rain epitomised their gritty campaign.

At the opposite end of the table, Lillestrøm’s relegation marked a grim season, compounded by the promotion of local rivals Vålerenga, who won the OBOS League.

Haugesund, finishing third from last, will face Moss in a playoff to retain their top-flight status.
