Bayern Munich chief defends Harry Kane after Didi Hamann’s harsh comments following UCL defeat

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has strongly criticised former Germany international Didi Hamann following his harsh remarks about Harry Kane’s recent performances, Soccernet.football reports.

Former Liverpool star Hamann had launched a scathing attack on Kane after Bayern’s surprise 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League.

He questioned the England captain’s ability to perform in big matches, stating that Kane has yet to live up to his hefty €100 million (£84m/$110m) price tag.

This criticism came after Kane failed to score in his last two appearances for Bayern, including their recent Bundesliga draw against Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Eberl did not take the comments lightly, responding by comparing Hamann’s frequent criticisms to a persistent ringing in the ears.

“Didi Hamann is like a tinnitus in the ear,” Eberl said as per BayernStrikes. “It comes up every three days.”

Despite the recent scrutiny, Kane has made a remarkable start to his Bayern career.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star has already scored 10 goals in just eight appearances in the Bundesliga and won the Golden Boot in his first season. However, back-to-back goalless games have attracted attention from critics.
