Barcelona are considering a summer move for Nigerian international Victor Osimhen as they seek a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, Footynaija.com reports.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Catalan giants are actively searching for a new striker ahead of the next transfer window.

With Lewandowski now 36 and approaching the latter stages of his career, Barcelona are assessing their options, and Osimhen has emerged as a serious candidate.

Osimhen has continued to bolster his reputation as one of the most prolific strikers in world football since joining Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer.

After a proposed move to Chelsea collapsed, the Turkish champions offered him a fresh start, and the Nigerian has thrived in Istanbul.

Victor Osimhen is likely to end up in the Premier League next season.

That’s according to his Nigeria teammate William Troost-Ekong.

The 26-year-old has been in scintillating form, contributing to 31 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions this season—netting 26 times and providing five assists.

His performances have attracted interest from several top European clubs, particularly with his future at Napoli looking increasingly uncertain. A permanent departure from the Italian side appears inevitable, and Barcelona are keen to position themselves at the front of the queue.

A La Liga switch on the cards?

Barcelona’s financial constraints pose a major hurdle in their pursuit of Osimhen. Napoli are demanding between €75-80 million for the striker, a figure that presents a significant challenge for the Blaugrana given their ongoing financial struggles.

The Catalan club are also monitoring Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak as a possible alternative. However, should they manage to secure the necessary funds, Osimhen could be the perfect long-term heir to Lewandowski. His physicality, pace, and goal-scoring instinct align well with Barcelona’s attacking needs.
