Hamburger SV manager Merlin Polzin has praised Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi for his recent improvement while insisting the Nigerian forward still has more to offer as he continues adapting to life in Germany, Footynaija.com reports.
Moffi endured a difficult start to the ongoing campaign after struggling with persistent knee problems that affected his fitness and limited his involvement during the opening weeks of the season.
The 27-year-old initially found himself featuring more frequently from the bench following his arrival at Hamburg, but his recent performances have offered encouraging signs of progress.

Moffi has scored in consecutive matches against Eintracht Frankfurt, finding the net in both the DFB-Pokal and Bundesliga encounters despite Hamburg suffering 3-1 defeats on both occasions.
Speaking ahead of Friday’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Monchengladbach, Polzin explained how the Nigerian’s recent goals have helped restore his confidence.

“Terem regains his confidence in the game through the goals you naturally need as a player,” the Hamburg manager said, per Liga Insider.
Polzin also highlighted the striker’s physical presence, ability to protect the ball and instinct in front of goal as important qualities for Hamburg’s attacking approach.
However, the German tactician believes Moffi has yet to reach the level he expects from him, with the club still working to improve his overall performance.

“He’s certainly not yet at the 100 percent I envision, and the 100 percent he envisions. We’re still right in the middle of it and definitely not yet at the end of what I expect from him.”
The Nigerian has recorded three goals in nine appearances across all competitions since joining Hamburg, including two in eight Bundesliga outings.
With Moffi finding the net in consecutive matches, Hamburg will hope the former Nice striker can maintain his momentum when they host Borussia Monchengladbach, as he continues pushing for a more consistent role in Polzin’s attacking setup.
