Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has picked his memorable goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford as one of the finest of his career, while expressing hope of creating even more special moments with Panathinaikos, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian forward scored for Rangers during their Europa League encounter against the Premier League giants in January 2025, briefly bringing the Scottish side level before Bruno Fernandes struck a late winner in a 2-1 victory for Manchester United.
Dessers came off the bench in the closing stages and produced a moment of quality, beating the offside trap before controlling the ball brilliantly and slotting it past the goalkeeper to silence the home crowd.
The 31-year-old admitted that choosing the best goal of his career was difficult but singled out the effort at Old Trafford because of the significance of scoring at such an iconic stadium.

“It’s very difficult for me to single out the best goal of my career. Maybe the one at Old Trafford against Manchester United. It’s special to score in this stadium,” Dessers said, per Gazzetta.
“I also remember the ones with Feyenoord against Marseille in the Conference semi-final, where all my friends and family were there.
“But I’m sure there will be more with Panathinaikos and I hope one of them becomes my favorite. To win a title. That’s my goal.”

Dessers has continued to deliver in front of goal since joining the Greek giants, recording nine goals in 14 appearances across all competitions so far this term.
The former Rangers striker has scored three times in the Greek Super League and added six goals in the UEFA Conference League, including a brace in Panathinaikos’ 5-1 victory over FC Kairat.
Dessers is also in contention to feature in Panathinaikos’ Conference League clash against CSKA Sofia as he looks to continue his strong run and move closer to achieving his ambition of winning a major title with the Greek side.
