Super Eagles forward Terem Moffi has praised Hamburg’s determination after scoring his first goal for the Bundesliga side in their dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Hoffenheim, Footynaija.com reports.
Hamburg looked set for another frustrating afternoon after surrendering an early lead before falling behind again in the second half. However, Hoffenheim’s numerical disadvantage following Bernardo’s 65th-minute dismissal gave the visitors an opening to fight their way back into the contest.
Moffi, who had entered the game as a substitute, took advantage of his opportunity by drawing Hamburg level in the 83rd minute. Miro Muheim then completed the turnaround with a stoppage-time winner to secure all three points.
Reflecting on the result, the Nigerian striker expressed his satisfaction at helping his team claim an important victory, while also praising the delivery that allowed him to find the net.

“We are very proud. I’m happy that I was able to help the team with my goal. Miro’s cross was wonderful. All I had to do was get into position,” Moffi told Hamburg’s official website.
“After that, I had the feeling that we still had the opportunity to win the game. We succeeded in this at the last minute.”
Beyond the result, Moffi was particularly struck by the travelling Hamburg supporters who turned out to back the team away from home.
The Super Eagles forward described their presence as extraordinary and expressed gratitude for the fans who made the trip to support the Bundesliga side.

“It’s an extraordinary feeling to see how many HSV fans have set off to watch the game here. Crazy! We are grateful to each individual for coming,” he said.
The victory lifted Hamburg out of the Bundesliga relegation zone and offered a timely boost after their difficult start to the campaign.
For Moffi, his maiden goal could prove an important step as he settles into life in Germany. The striker will now hope his decisive contribution earns him a bigger role when Hamburg host Stuttgart next weekend.
