The Super Eagles have begun assembling in Uyo as Eric Chelle prepares his squad for Nigeria’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Footynaija reports.
At least 20 players had arrived at the team’s camp by Tuesday afternoon, with several of the squad’s key names already available for the coach’s first training session.
Among the early arrivals are Fulham pair Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, while Atlético Madrid forward Ademola Lookman has also reported for international duty.
Hull City defender Semi Ajayi, Trabzonspor centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu and Ajax striker Tolu Arokodare are also in camp.
Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Raphael Onyedika and Olympiakos defender Bruno Onyemaechi have joined them, alongside goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo and midfielders Frank Onyeka and Ola Aina.
Bright Osayi-Samuel, Akor Adams and Moses Simon are also with the squad.
Chelle has further welcomed Emmanuel Fernandez, Taiwo Awoniyi, Benjamin Fredrick, Moses Usor, Isaac James and George Ilenikhena into camp.
Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is already in Nigeria and is expected to join his Super Eagles team-mates later on Tuesday.
More players are expected before the team begins its first training session in Uyo.
Besiktas midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze are expected to report to camp on Tuesday afternoon.
The first training session is tentatively scheduled for 17:00 local time, with Chelle hoping to have at least 22 players available to start preparations.
The arrivals give the coach an early chance to work with most of his squad before Nigeria’s qualifiers, with further players expected to complete the group as the camp progresses.
