English Premier League side Fulham are keen to secure the long-term future of Nigeria international Calvin Bassey amid reported interest from Serie A giants Inter Milan, Footynaija.com understands.
Fulham are understood to be relaxed about the Super Eagles defender’s situation, with a one-year extension option already included in Bassey’s current contract.
The 26-year-old’s present deal expires next summer, but Fulham can trigger the clause to keep him at Craven Cottage until June 2028.

That option has eased any pressure on the Premier League club as they look to reward Bassey with a fresh long-term contract after his emergence as a key player.
Bassey has made 105 appearances for Fulham since joining from Ajax in 2023 and has developed into one of the club’s most dependable performers.
His versatility has also increased his value, with the Nigeria international capable of operating at both the heart of the Cottagers’ defensive setup as well as on the left-hand-side.
Those performances have attracted interest from Italy according to TeamTalk, with Inter Milan among the clubs understood to have monitored Bassey over several transfer windows.
However, the defender is reportedly happy and settled in west London and is open to remaining at Fulham if suitable terms can be agreed.
Bassey was named Fulham’s Player of the Season for the 24/25 campaign and remains an important part of the squad under new head coach Alvaro Arbeloa.
Fulham’s priority is therefore to keep the Nigerian rather than consider an immediate exit, while talks over a new agreement are expected to begin soon.
As things stand, the Cottagers remain relaxed about the defender’s future, with their existing extension option keeping them in a strong position to resist temptations even if interest from Inter Milan develops further.
