Feyenoord have been urged to make a surprise move for Nigeria striker Victor Boniface after the Dutch club sold Ayase Ueda to Lille, Footynaija reports.
FootballTransfers says Boniface could be an option for Feyenoord as they search for another striker. The report comes after Feyenoord lost two forwards in the final days of the transfer window.
Casper Tengstedt joined Toulouse for €3 million. Ueda then completed a €15m move to Lille on 31 August. Ueda had started Feyenoord’s first four league matches and scored in his final appearance at De Kuip. Feyenoord confirmed the transfer on Monday.
That leaves Nacho Ferri and Shaqueel van Persie as the club’s senior striker options. Ferri joined from Westerlo for €9m, while Van Persie returned from a serious injury last season and has already made four substitute appearances this term.
Boniface now looks more realistic because his situation at Bayer Leverkusen has changed.
The 25-year-old joined Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in July 2023 and signed a contract until June 2028. He scored 32 goals in 62 games for the German club.
The Super Eagles forward has made only one substitute appearance this season and spent the full 90 minutes on the bench in a cup game. Its data gives him a Club Fit score of 82 for Feyenoord and a Skill rating of 77.8.
A loan deal, possibly with an option to buy, could therefore give Boniface regular football while giving Feyenoord a proven striker.
