Rangers International FC have petitioned the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following alleged incidents involving MC Alger supporters during and after their CAF Champions League fixture in Abeokuta, Footynaija reports.
The Enugu-based club confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, October 19, 2026, a day after their encounter with MC Alger at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.
Rangers raised concerns over the reported destruction of a stadium entrance gate, unauthorised entry without payment of gate fees, vandalism of stadium seats and other acts of disorder.
The NPFL champions said it had formally submitted its petition to CAF and requested urgent intervention from the continental football governing body.
Rangers also called on CAF to consider appropriate precautionary measures ahead of the return leg, scheduled for Friday, October 23, 2026, in Algiers.
Goals from Super Eagles defender Kenneth Igboke and James Emo powered ten-man Rangers to a fine win in the first leg clash. Another positive result in the second fixture will secure passage to the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
