A return to regular football could soon be on the horizon for Collins Sor, with the Super Eagles winger moving closer to leaving Genk as Turkish side Amedspor step up talks over a summer transfer that would see him reunite with fellow Nigerian Gift Orban, Footynaija.com reports.
Sor’s future has been the subject of growing speculation in recent weeks after entering the final year of his contract at Genk. With no signs of an extension, the Belgian club are now open to listening to offers rather than risk losing the 26-year-old for nothing next summer.
The Nigerian arrived at Genk from Slavia Prague in January 2023 after catching the eye with his pace and direct attacking style in the Czech Republic.

The Belgian club paid around €6.5 million to secure his signature and viewed him as one of the brightest young wingers in the region.
Things have not gone according to plan, though.
A series of injuries disrupted Sor’s progress almost from the moment he arrived in Belgium. Those setbacks made it difficult for him to build any real momentum, while competition for places further limited his opportunities. As a result, he never managed to become a regular starter despite showing flashes of the quality that first brought him to Genk.
According to a report by Complete Sports, discussions between Genk and Amedspor are progressing, although the two clubs have not yet reached a final agreement. With Sor’s contract running down, however, all parties are aware that this summer is Genk’s best opportunity to negotiate a transfer fee.
The move would also bring Sor back alongside Gift Orban, who recently joined the newly promoted Turkish club on loan from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. The prospect of two Nigerian forwards leading Amedspor’s attack is expected to be one of the club’s biggest attractions ahead of their first season back in the Turkish top flight.
