Fiorentina are making another strong attempt to sign Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare after improving their offer to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Footynaija reports.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Italian club have proposed a fresh loan deal with a €22 million option to make the move permanent.
The latest offer follows Wolves’ decision to reject Fiorentina’s first bid, which fell below the club’s asking price. Negotiations are still ongoing, with both sides hoping to reach an agreement before the new season kicks off.
Arokodare, who is also reportedly wanted by Galatasaray, is understood to be keen on joining Fiorentina. The 25-year-old believes a move to Serie A would give him the chance to revive his career after a disappointing campaign in England. Despite receiving an offer from Turkish side Trabzonspor, the Super Eagles forward turned it down because he wants to remain in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
The Nigerian joined Wolves from Belgian club Genk for around €27 million last summer but found it difficult to make an impact. He scored only three league goals and registered one assist in 33 appearances, with just 13 starts, as Wolves suffered relegation to the Championship. He was also left out of the club’s pre-season training camp in Portugal, increasing speculation that an exit is close.
Even with his struggles in England, Fiorentina remain convinced Arokodare can succeed. The 1.97m striker impressed at Genk, where he scored 21 league goals in the 2024-25 season. His height, strength and ability to dominate in the air make him an attractive option as Fiorentina look to strengthen their attack for the new Serie A season.
