Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is reportedly playing an active role in Galatasaray’s transfer plans, with the striker said to have recommended fellow Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare as a potential addition ahead of the new season, Footynaija reports.
The Turkish champions are expected to reshape their attacking department this summer, especially with uncertainty surrounding the future of veteran Argentine forward Mauro Icardi. His possible departure would leave Galatasaray searching for extra firepower as they prepare to defend their domestic crown and compete in Europe.
According to Turkish football commentator Burak Eren, Osimhen has encouraged the club hierarchy to consider Arokodare as a reliable option. The recommendation is believed to stem from the strong relationship between both players within the Super Eagles setup, where Osimhen remains one of the squad’s most influential figures.
Arokodare’s stock may have dipped following a difficult first season at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 24-year-old managed six goals and two assists in 38 appearances after arriving from KRC Genk in a €26 million move. Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League has also increased speculation over possible player sales this summer.
Despite his struggles in England, Arokodare still boasts an impressive career return of 90 goals in 259 club matches. Interest from several Turkish sides has been mentioned, but Galatasaray could emerge as a serious contender if they decide to pursue a deal, whether through a permanent transfer or an initial loan arrangement.
