Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has revealed Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu‘s position regarding a potential departure from Papara Park this summer, Footynaija.com reports.
Onuachu enjoyed a stellar campaign after returning to Trabzonspor on a permanent deal last summer. The Nigerian forward had previously spent the 2023/2024 season on loan with the Turkish Cup holders from English club Southampton.
The 31-year-old registered an impressive 26 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions last season. Twenty-two of those goals came in the Turkish Super Lig, where he finished as joint top scorer alongside Istanbul Basaksehir striker Eldor Shomurodov. He also scooped the league’s Goal of the Season award.

Before sealing his return to Trabzonspor, Onuachu attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia. Following his prolific 2025/2026 campaign, that interest has reportedly resurfaced, with Al Ahli said to be keen on securing his services ahead of next season.
The towering striker has also been linked with several European clubs, including Bayer Leverkusen, Werder Bremen, VfL Wolfsburg, TSG Hoffenheim and Stade Rennes. However, according to Fanatik, both player and club are relaxed about the growing speculation.

“There is an offer for Paul Onuachu, but he loves the club and does not intend to leave,” Dogan said in a recent interview.
“An offer of close to €20 million came for Paul Onuachu, but we did not accept.”
For now, both Trabzonspor and Onuachu appear aligned in their desire to continue their partnership beyond the summer transfer window.
However, as is often the case in football, transfer situations can change quickly. While Trabzonspor’s current stance is firmly against a sale, it remains to be seen whether the club can resist if a significantly improved offer arrives for one of their most influential players.
