Trabzonspor have reportedly rejected an €11 million offer from Saudi Arabia for Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu following his outstanding campaign in the Turkish Super Lig, Footynaija.com reports.

Onuachu enjoyed the most prolific season of his career since leaving the Belgian Pro League, finishing with 22 league goals to emerge as joint-top scorer in the Turkish top flight.

The Nigerian forward also etched his name into the club’s history books, becoming only the sixth player to win the league’s Golden Boot while representing the Black Sea Storm.

His impressive performances throughout the campaign have inevitably attracted attention from clubs across several leagues, with teams in Saudi Arabia particularly keen on securing his services ahead of the new season.

According to Turkish outlet Taka Spor, one of those admirers has already tested Trabzonspor’s resolve with an official bid. The report claims Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli submitted an offer worth €11 million for the 32-year-old striker, but the proposal was swiftly turned down by the Turkish club.

Trabzonspor are understood to be determined to protect their investment after Onuachu’s stellar season and have reportedly placed a valuation of around €15 million on the Nigerian international.

Despite the growing interest, Onuachu has previously made it clear that he is happy in Turkey and remains focused on achieving more success with Trabzonspor.

The former Midtjylland striker has reportedly turned down lucrative approaches in the past, preferring to continue his journey with the club where he has become a fan favourite.

However, with the Saudi entourage expected to return with improved offers, Trabzonspor may soon face a difficult decision over the future of one of their most valuable assets. For now, though, the Turkish side have made their position clear: €11 million is not enough to prise Onuachu away from Papara Park.
