Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira has provided an update on the fitness status of Super Eagles defender Ola Aina ahead of his side’s final Premier League match of the season, Footynaija.com reports.
Aina is yet to feature for the Tricky Trees this month, with his last appearance coming during a 1-0 win over Aston Villa in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final three weeks ago.
Within that time, Forest have endured a three game winless streak across all competitions, while Villa have gone on to win the Europa League after overturning that semifinal first leg deficit and then dispatching Bundesliga outfit Freiburg in the final on Wednesday.
Pereira’s men will close the campaign by playing hosts to high-flying Bournemouth on Saturday and the former Wolves boss revealed while providing a general squad update that Aina is back in training. Although, he stopped just short of confirming a potential involvement.

“Murillo stays without training with the team. Ola (Aina) started today on the pitch,” Pereira said in quotes revealed by Nottingham Forest’s official website.
“I think Dan (Ndoye) has worked two times with the team, but we will see. I think that is all.
“We are in a moment of the season where we can’t take risks because this is a game we want to win.
“It’s not a final or a game to decide big things. Of course we want to win the game, we want three points and finish in the positions in the table.
“We will do everything to get a good result, but it is not possible to take risks at this moment.”

Vitor Pereira has successfully steered Nottingham Forest away from danger despite coming on board with the Reds in a precarious position. With nothing left to fight for, the Portuguese gaffer may well decide against risking players that are not fully fit.
