Nigeria’s Super Eagles have stepped up preparations for their 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoff campaign after officially opening camp in Rabat, Morocco, Footynaija.com reports.
Super Eagles and Al-Kholood captain William Troost-Ekong became the latest player to report for international duty, taking the number of players in camp to eight.
Troost-Ekong arrived just a few minutes after Paris FC winger Moses Simon breezed into camp.

Other early arrivals include Calvin Bassey, Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, and Wilfred Ndidi. The group, alongside team officials, is lodged at the Rive Hotel in Rabat.
The players will begin full training under head coach Eric Chelle. Sessions are expected to focus on tactical coordination, pressing structures, and maintaining match fitness as the Eagles prepare for their semi-final clash against the Panthers of Gabon.
Osimhen, Awaziem, and Fredrick to bolster squad on Monday
Team officials confirmed that three more players: striker Victor Osimhen, defender Chidozie Awaziem, and young centre-back Benjamin Fredrick, are expected to arrive at the team’s base early on Monday.
The remaining invited players are expected in the coming hours as Nigeria continue their build-up to Thursday’s decisive semi-final showdown with Gabon.
Among those still being expected in camp shortly are Chidera Ejuke, Akor Adams, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Semi Ajayi, Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, Bruno Onyemaechi and Zaidu Sanusi. Others are Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ademola Lookman. Many of these expected stars where in action for their clubs on Sunday.
The Rabat camp marks the official start of Nigeria’s journey in the 2026 FIFA World Cup African playoff series, and morale within the squad is said to be high. The Super Eagles will remain in Morocco throughout the preparation phase as Chelle looks to fine-tune his side’s tactical balance and attacking transitions before their crucial fixture on November 13.
