Nigerian forward Cyriel Dessers was named Rangers’ Men’s Top Goalscorer for the 2024–25 season, receiving the prestigious Sam English Bowl during the club’s annual awards ceremony on Sunday evening, Footynaija.com reports.

Dessers claimed the first award of the night in recognition of his outstanding scoring record, despite enduring a spell of limited game time earlier in the campaign.

The 29-year-old battled back to form and finished the season with an impressive tally of 24 goals across all competitions for the 1972 European Cup Winners’ Cup champions.

The Super Eagles star’s resurgence culminated in a memorable moment earlier this month when he netted a dramatic last-minute winner against Dundee to mark his 100th appearance for the club.

The evening celebrated achievements across the Men’s, Women’s, and Academy teams. In the Women’s category, Katie Wilkinson emerged as a double winner, claiming both the Players’ Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer awards after scoring a remarkable 39 goals.

Elsewhere, Nico Raskin took home the Men’s Players’ Player of the Year and was also crowned Men’s Player of the Year. John Souttar was recognised with the John Greig CBE Achievement Award, while James Tavernier was honoured for making his 500th appearance in a Rangers shirt.

Hamza Igamane also had a standout night, winning Men’s Young Player of the Year and Men’s Goal of the Season. Chelsea Cornet was awarded Women’s Goal of the Season for her strike in the 3-2 victory over Celtic.

Other winners included Aiden McCallion (Academy Player of the Year), Brogan Hay (Women’s Player of the Year), and Chris Eadie (Academy Goal of the Season).
