Moses Usor’s starring role in LASK’s remarkable Champions League comeback against Celtic has earned him his first Super Eagles call-up, Footynaija reports.
The 24-year-old Nigerian winger has been added to Nigeria’s squad after Brighton winger Femi Azeez suffered a muscle injury. OwnGoal Nigeria reports that Usor will replace Azeez for the Super Eagles’ opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
Usor’s biggest moment came on 25 August at the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz.

LASK started the second leg against Celtic 3-0 down after losing the first match in Glasgow. The Scottish champions then moved four goals clear on aggregate when captain Callum McGregor scored after 21 minutes.
LASK needed a response, and Usor provided it.
He pounced on a loose ball and scored in the 32nd minute to make it 1-1 on the night.
Usor then turned creator early in the second half. His pass set up Robert Ljubičić, who put LASK 2-1 ahead in the 48th minute. Samuel Adeniran made it 3-1 before Florian Flecker scored in stoppage time to force extra time.
Adeniran struck again in the 109th minute as LASK won 5-1 and completed a 5-4 aggregate comeback. The result sent LASK into the Champions League league phase for the first time.
Usor played 98 minutes, scored once and made one assist. He also received a yellow card in the second half.
Last season, the exciting forward scored 15 goals and made 10 assists in 35 games, helping LASK win the Austrian league and cup double. He has also started the new season with three goals and five assists in 11 games.
Nigeria will face Madagascar in Uyo on 25 September before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau on 29 September. Both matches are Group L qualifiers for AFCON 2027.
Usor now has a chance to turn one of the most dramatic nights of his club career into the start of his Nigeria career.
