Atletico Madrid have emerged as the strongest club interested in signing the Nigerian and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the new season, Footynaija reports.

Fresh reports from Turkey say Osimhen’s representative, George Gardi, recently travelled to Madrid to hold talks with Atletico Madrid. The visit has increased speculation that Diego Simeone’s side are ready to compete for the Super Eagles star, even though rivals Real Madrid have also been linked with him in recent months.

Galatasaray are not making the negotiations easy. The Turkish champions are determined to keep their leading striker and are reportedly asking for around €150 million before they will consider selling him.

Reports claim the Super Lig champions have already turned down an offer of €120 million, while another European club is said to have made a verbal bid worth €125 million. Interest has also come from Saudi Arabia, but Gardi has dismissed suggestions that Osimhen is close to joining Al Hilal.

Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus are all believed to be watching the situation closely, while Arsenal and Barcelona are keeping him on their list of possible attacking targets.

Despite the growing interest, Osimhen is said to be happy at Galatasaray and is not pushing for a move. He has reportedly spoken with coach Okan Buruk about plans for next season and remains fully committed to the club.

The Nigerian striker has also shown his loyalty by recommending fellow countrymen Tolu Arokodare and Emmanuel Fernandez as possible signings. After rejecting a huge Saudi offer reportedly worth between €30 million and €35 million per season, Osimhen’s main goal remains playing at the highest level in European football.
