Gift Orban will continue his career in Turkey after Hoffenheim confirmed the Nigerian striker has joined newly promoted Süper Lig side Amed SFK on loan for the 2026-27 season, Footynaija reports.
The agreement gives Amed SFK the chance to sign Orban permanently at the end of the campaign, while certain conditions could make the transfer automatic.
The 24-year-old arrived at Hoffenheim in January 2025 and found the net four times in 13 Bundesliga matches. Last season, he was sent on loan to Italian club Hellas Verona, where he enjoyed more regular football. He scored seven league goals and provided three assists in 28 appearances, although Verona were still relegated to Serie B.
Amed SFK will now hope Orban can bring that attacking form to Turkey as they prepare for their first season in the top flight.
Orban first caught the attention of European clubs during his impressive spell with Norwegian side Stabæk before moving to Belgian outfit Gent. He later earned a transfer to French club Lyon and eventually joined Hoffenheim.
One of the biggest moments of his career came while playing for Gent in the UEFA Europa Conference League. Against İstanbul Başakşehir, the Nigerian striker scored three goals in just three minutes and 25 seconds, setting the record for the fastest hat-trick ever scored in a UEFA club competition.
The move to Amed SFK now gives Orban another chance to revive his career and prove he can become one of Nigeria’s leading strikers again.
