Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has shared his thoughts on the possibility of reuniting with former manager Frank Lampard at Craven Cottage as Fulham continue their search for a new manager, Footynaija.com reports.

The Cottagers have been searching for a new head coach since the departure of Marco Silva earlier this month. Silva brought an end to his successful spell at Craven Cottage to return to his native Portugal and take charge of Benfica ahead of the new season.

Fulham have since begun the process of identifying a suitable replacement, with several names linked to the vacancy. Former Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa is reportedly among the leading contenders after recently leaving his role as interim manager at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Frank Lampard is also reportedly under consideration by the West London club. The former Chelsea and Everton boss has plenty of admirers within Fulham’s hierarchy, although reports have suggested he is close to signing a new long-term contract with Coventry City after guiding the Sky Blues to promotion to the Premier League.

Sharing his thoughts on the situation, Iwobi admitted that he had fond memories of his time under Lampard at Everton but also maintained that the whole squad is ready to work with whoever takes the reins next.

“Yeah, I mean, I can only go off my experience with the national team and at Everton. I’ve had several managers there, so it won’t be difficult for me to adapt,” he said, per talkSPORT.

“We’ll be ready to play whoever the manager is. Of course, I’ve worked with Frank Lampard before and he’s someone I really enjoyed working with.

“But I don’t really mind as long as the manager that comes in wants to help better the club and so do the players. So whoever the manager is, we’re ready to work with them.”

Fulham will be eager to appoint Silva’s successor sooner rather than later as they look to build on last season’s progress. Whether the club ultimately turns to Lampard, Arbeloa, or another candidate, Iwobi and his teammates appear ready to embrace this new chapter.
