Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly ruled out the possibility of Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna going away on loan ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, Footynaija.com reports.
Yohanna recently joined the Seagulls in a deal worth 28 million Euros, just under a year after moving to Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK Stockholm from Kaduna based Nigerian football academy Ikon Allah FC.
Following the move, speculations emerged that Brighton were considering the possibility of shipping the promising 18-year-old winger out on a temporary basis ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
However, latest reports indicate that Yohanna will be an integral part of Brighton’s pre-season preparations and is largely expected to contribute for Fabian Hurzeler’s side over the course of the upcoming campaign.
Hurzeler’s comments at the time of Yohanna’s signing backs up Brighton’s stance on the youngster’s immediate future. The German tactician expressed high excitement regarding the signing of the teenager, stating that he is a dynamic attacking talent who will bring much-needed creativity to the Seagulls.

“I’m looking forward to working with Zadok,” Hurzeler said. “Having seen his games and his attributes, he is a player that can impact games in the final third.
“He’s still young, and will need time to adapt to the club and Premier League, but he’s an exciting player to watch and he brings the kind of creativity we know our fans will enjoy.”
While Brighton appear keen to manage expectations regarding Yohanna’s adaptation period, their decision to keep him at the club rather than send him out on loan tells the level of confidence they have in his potential.
The former AIK winger arrives at the Amex Stadium with a growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s brightest young attacking talents, and the upcoming pre-season will provide him with an opportunity to impress Hurzeler and stake a claim for regular involvement in the first team.
Should he settle quickly into life in England, Yohanna could emerge as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young prospects and take another significant step in his blossoming career.
