OGC Nice striker Terem Moffi has opened up on his first impressions of the Nigerian Premier Football League players included in the Super Eagles’ contingent for the 2026 Unity Cup, Footynaija.com reports.
Eric Chelle’s men are gearing up to battle Zimbabwe at the Charlton Athletic Valley Stadium in the opening semi-final on Tuesday, May 26 before facing one of Jamaica or India four days later in the final or third place play-off, depending on results.
For this brief four-nation tournament, Super Eagles boss Chelle called on seven players from the domestic scene and so far, the NPFL stars are justifying their involvement via impressive displays on the training pitch.

“It’s been the first session of the week and it’s been a top session from the boys. We’re proud to be here, happy to represent the country. We are looking forward to other sessions and the games,” Moffi revealed.
“From the boys back home, top session from them. We could see the quality from the get-go. This is what we need in the Super Eagles, a mix of this and that. We love that.”

Nigeria enter the tournament as defending champions after winning the 2025 edition by beating Jamaica 5-4 on penalties in the final. Quizzed about the pressure of repeating that success, Moffi added;
“There’s no pressure at all. We are just happy to be here to play football, enjoy ourselves and win games.”
Moffi is coming off the back of a mixed campaign where despite enduring difficult spells at both OGC Nice and FC Porto, he managed to enjoy league success by lifting the Primera Liga with the Portuguese giants.
