AFC Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has revealed that he’s a huge fan of one of the three Super Eagles stars currently on the books at London based Premier League side Fulham, Footynaija.com reports.
Okonkwo is set to link up with the Super Eagles this summer after Wrexham confirmed a maiden senior national team call up for the young shot-stopper ahead of the 2026 Unity Cup, a four-nation tournament that will also involve India, Jamaica, and Zimbabwe.
While the official squad list is not yet out, players like Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze, who all enjoyed a decent campaign with Fulham in the Premier League are some of the players Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is likely to call upon.
Ahead of potentially linking up with these three players in June, Okonkwo has opened up on his admiration for Chukwueze in particular, highlighting the exciting winger’s jovial and humorous nature off the pitch as the main reason for this.

”If I was going to choose someone on the team, it would be Chukwueze because he seems mad and funny,” Okonkwo said.
”I don’t know him personally, but I know he will be good vibes. I like it on the bus when you have someone who doesn’t stop talking.”
Okonkwo has already expressed his desire to become a regular and consistent performer for the Super Eagles despite being quite new to the environment of the Nigeria senior national team.
The 24-year-old will now be hoping for an opportunity to earn his first caps for the three-time African champions as they look to win a second consecutive Unity Cup tournament.
