Super Eagles defender Ryan Alebiosu is on course to make his 50th start for Blackburn Rovers when they face Wrexham in the Championship this weekend, Footynaija.com reports.
The 24-year-old has established himself as a regular in Blackburn’s starting line-up since joining from Belgian side KV Kortrijk in the summer of 2025, becoming an important figure on the right flank.
Alebiosu admitted he did not expect to reach the milestone so quickly, describing his time at Ewood Park as an experience that has helped him grow both on and off the pitch.

“It feels great to be getting my 50th Rovers start. I’ve played a lot of games and I didn’t know it was going to come this quickly when I first came here, but it’s been an unbelievable experience,” he told RoversTV.
The defender also credited Blackburn’s training environment, his teammates and the club’s supporters for helping him settle in and improve since arriving in England’s second tier.
“The environment I’m in has helped me and I include the players and staff in that. I feel like I’ve learnt a lot from the start until now, both as a person and also on the pitch as a player.”

Alebiosu also highlighted the belief he has received from the fans, explaining that their support has helped him feel at home while building his confidence.
The former Arsenal academy player had not featured in the Championship before joining Blackburn Rovers, having gained senior experience through loan spells at Crewe Alexandra, Kilmarnock and St Mirren before moving to Belgium.
His progress at Ewood Park has also coincided with his emergence on the international scene, having switched his allegiance to Nigeria and made his senior debut for the Super Eagles.
With his 50th start approaching, Alebiosu will hope to maintain the form and consistency that has seen him become one of the first names on Tony Mowbray’s teamsheets so far this season.
